Searching for the perfect gift? May I introduce

Candy Cymru

Candy Cymru

This client project was for a young family member who wanted to open their own sweet shop. I had agreed to help with their branding and website, but quickly found that they had no unique selling point for their brand. We ended after I finished their logo, as their deadline was too short a time period to create the website. However, I did mock up a new business plan with designs on how I would see the future for Candy Cymru based on research on their area.

Candy Cymru is based in New Quay Wales, a popular tourist location due to the high amount of caravan parks and excursions. I proposed to the client that Candy Cymru would well as a gift for tourists, taking local welsh made sweet products and containing them into one package known as Candy Cymru. I suggested the focused locally first, with plans to expand into other popular tourist areas around Wales, with a specialty box in each location for tourists to collect. These would be limited edition to the area, with growth opportunity for a website to advertise these with an online exclusive box for those who cannot visit Wales but still wish to try a taste.

As this was planned for a small start up business, they expressed how they did not have the money to obtain a premises. It was also an issue that if they did get a standard location, then half of the year they would not get many tourists. Therefore, I suggested that they could either pay local gift shops to hold their stock, including the local Haven caravan park, or they could get a branded vehicle that can turn up at the beach & summer events around New Quay. This would act as a chance for tourists to try & buy gifts from themselves and people at home. I also had the idea that they could have a mascot costume to walk around with the Van to hand out small samples and work as a photo opportunity to attract small families.
